Interactive Media Apps and Talk learning approach; learners psychological and cognitive development
This research contends that the use of Interactive Media Apps with Talk; i.e. chat, whatsapp, comments, FB, Tweet etc. approach in or out of the classroom is developing learners' psychological and cognitive advancement. The Talk means the social undertaking learning style - a socio-cultural environment of Talk and learning that can be developed into activity learning. The activities in learning are the operational experiences, including the use of technological aids and discovery of new knowledge with Web technology. Talk stimulates children's critical thinking skills with teachers, peers and adults for many collaborative kinds of learning activities and for team working inside and outside the classroom. Through Talk with the use of Interactive Media Apps in or out of the classroom, children internalise their psychological functions of perception, attention, sensory motor-operation, memory and cognitive development. The theories examined in this study give a strong groundwork for this study to propose a psychological and cognitive development Framework for our school children when learning and using Interactive Media Apps/tools. With this finding, this study has synthesized the existing educational theories on psychological and cognitive development into a solid learning framework of Interactive Media Apps/Tools teaching and learning approach in Malaysia classroom.
