2. Mr Mercer Adam exhibited a uterus, in the broad ligament of which the following abnormal appearances were observed. The extremity of the fallopian tube was swollen and dropsical, and the ovary was much atrophied f towards it there ran a very tortuous vessel, much distended, and resembling the vas deferens, so as at first sight to give the appearance of lateral hermaphroditism. On dissection, however, this vessel was found to be an obstructed bloodvessel (probably one of the uterine veins) filled with solid fatty matter.
