Design of a multiple-target based automated camera repositioning system for integrating CCTV with video image vehicle detection systems
Visual traffic monitoring and quantitative traffic data collection are two important functions of a traffic management center. However, to date, these two functions are being carried out independently and combining the functions can provide a significant reduction in costs and efficiency of operation. Several attempts have been made to combine CCTV systems that handle traffic monitoring and VIVDS that perform traffic data collection. While most of these have found success in a laboratory environment they are not well suited for field adaptation. This paper presents a system design that is the revised version of a laboratory system design of a CCTV repositioning technique that makes it more suitable for field conditions.
