Dianchi watershed in which Kunming city is located also experienced the serious deterioration of ecological system from the late 1970s. In search of a viable way to coordinate between urban growth and protection of freshwater lake, objective of this paper is to monitor land use/land cover change of Kunming city through the methods of Remote Sensing (RS), Geographic Information System (GIS), spatial metrics and Moran's I. index. The results show that land use/land cover change in Kunming city is characterized by the sprawl of urban built-up area and the decrease of agricultural land. Urban built-up area has gradually replaced agricultural land to be the most dominant land use type in the study area. Urban growth of Kunming experienced a “clustered-dispersed-clustered” process, sprawling like an expanding pancake. There is very limited space for urban built-up area to further expand. 摘要

自1978年中国实行改革开放政策以来,地处高原湖畔的昆明市经历了30年的快速城市化和经济高速增长。从20世纪70年代末开始,昆明市所在滇池流域也经历了严重的生态系统恶化。为了寻找协调城市发展与淡水湖保护的可行途径,本文采用遥感(RS)、地理信息系统(GIS)、空间度量和Moran i指数等方法对昆明市土地利用/土地覆被变化进行监测。结果表明:昆明市土地利用/土地覆被变化呈现城市建成区扩张和农用地减少的特征;城市建成区逐渐取代农用地成为研究区最主要的土地利用类型。昆明的城市发展经历了一个“聚集-分散-聚集”的过程,就像一个不断扩张的煎饼。城市建成区进一步扩大的空间非常有限。在分析影响城市扩张特征的因素的基础上,提出了一些有益的建议,供当局和规划者参考。
