In this paper, a parallel stabilized platform for airborne SAR antenna is designed based on the 3-UPS/S mechanism, and its DOF is analyzed and verified by applying screw theory. It is proved that the mechanism has three DOFs of rotation, and is suitable for the working conditions of airborne SAR antenna. The forward kinematics of the mechanism was analyzed by Analytic geometric, and the analytic equations composed of three quadric equations were obtained. An engineering prototype is made, and the correctness of the forward kinematics is verified by co-simulation with Simulink and prototype experiment.
