This research approach is quantitative research. The sample of this study was 140 students. The data collection method is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that 1) there is a negative effect of teacher pedagogical competence on student academic stress (sig. 0.00); 2) there is a negative effect of teacher professional competence on student academic stress (sig. 0.02); 3) there is a negative effect of teacher personality competence on student academic stress (sig. 0.01); and 4) there is a negative effect of teacher pedagogical competence on student academic stress (sig. 0.01). The implication of this study is that teachers need to continue to improve competencies in pedagogical, professional, personality and social aspects.
