One of the most prevalent issues it is addressing is poverty. Poverty in the country is greatly associated with the sector of agriculture because it is the greatest livelihood-generating sector for poor remote families in the Philippines. Quality of agriculture is highly associated with the quality of living since healthy crops and good harvests are both synonymous with larger income for these families. In this connection, studies suggest that good quality of agriculture might be hard to achieve in the country if it will continue to be stuck in traditional ways of farming instead of introducing new and efficient technological advancements to the sector. Thus, this research endeavor, through partnerships with concerned government agencies, aims to develop an algorithm and a prototype to introduce the application of Wavelet Technique in Image Fusion and Reconstruction as an early detection mechanism to prevent further spreading of plant pests in Philippines’ agricultural sector.
