Thus all the WPP components' influence on reactive power capability counts. The WPP main transformer On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC) control settings or control scheme can be optimized in critical borderline cases, possibly enabling sufficient reactive power capability just by a mere control setting adjustment. The influence of OLTC control voltage reference parameter values is studied related to WPP reactive power capability, and noted that even a relatively small marginal influence makes a difference under certain circumstances.
