THE ROLE OF THE ÚPČR IN SETTING THE QUALITY OF RETRAINING
Continuous quality assurance of the training programme is one of the very important pillars of long-life education. Retraining courses that meet the quality requirements must be offered, and the quality of the courses delivered must be monitored and evaluated. The duration of courses must be adequate to ensure that the course leads to acquisition of necessary knowledge and skills required from workers with particular qualification. The content of the courses must meet the real requirements and needs of employers. It is clear that this cannot be achieved without appropriate communication with employers, who can assess the match between the competences required by the labour market and those acquired through the training course. The article reflects on the desirable role of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic in the system of quality assurance of retraining. The conclusion clearly shows that its role is significant, especially because of the fact that the employer is, or schoud be a very important client of the Labour. Communication with employer which is se up functionally allows to obtain feedback on (not only) the level of knowledge and skills needed to perform a job, in case of persons who have undergone a training programme, whose content was designed to preparation for the considered profession.
