Design and Fabrication of a multi-band 2Element MIMO Antenna for Sub-6 GHz Applications
In this paper a multi-wideband 2_element Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna with high isolation in the bands 1.2 GHz -3 GHz, 4.5 GHz - 5.7 GHz and 7.2 GHz -7.9 GHz is presented. The proposed antenna employs an elliptical monopole with two square parasitic elements added to improve the bandwidth and matching. A slit in the ground plane is etched to achieve high port isolation with minimum possible distance between the MIMO elements. The designed antenna has been simulated, fabricated and tested. An isolation of more than 16dB was achieved in all the covered bands, with a maximum gain of 3dBi and a correlation coefficient values less than 0.05. The results exhibit good agreement between the simulations and measurements.
