Viability analysis of Self-governing Hybrid Electric Vehicle Charging System
In India, the development of EV charging infrastructure will give a boom to Electric Vehicles in the automobile industry. But conventional EV chargers have a significant impact on the distribution grid. Micro-grids along with renewable energy generations have the potential to lessen the impacts of EV charging on the distribution network. This research makes use of renewable and non-renewable sources to formulate a smart charging strategy for EV charging. Algorithm developed helps in controlling power flow among different system components. Optimal sizing of different components is done keeping in mind the reliability of the system. Charging locations inside and outside urban limits are studied, to analyze EVs used for intracity and intercity commuting. Conclusion drawn helps in understanding the feasibility and reliability of the system.
