As a method of corrosion resistance testing an immersion test in 3.5% NaCl was used. This test was done in order to evaluate the influence of higher Fe content and Mn addition in heat-treated AlSi7Mg0.3 alloys. The results show that the Mn addition increases the corrosion resistance of AlSi7Mg0.3 alloys, but not significantly.
