Probabilities and Statistics in Sociology

In China, mathematics has only been developed in theorem, but not in application. In this way, this article will discuss two of the most common mathematical tools, probabilities and statistics, about how they could be used in sociology and applied in real life. Four examples will be given to illustrate how to use these specific theories in different situations and to demonstrate the application of mathematics. In this process, Markov chains, normal distribution and Possion distribution will be used in analysis of various problems. Including these examples and analysis, this article will conclude that professional mathematical tools could actually be applied to real-life problems, especially in sociology.
