It provides a condensed conceptual guide to understand the three main bibliometric methods of mapping, direct citation, co-citation, and bibliographic coupling. Finally, the workflow applied to the adequacy of generation in an electricity market with capacity remuneration mechanisms. For this case, the main advantages and disadvantages from applying this tool are shown.
