Oil cleaning is a time consuming and expensive task for power plant and wind turbine industry. Electrostatic Lubricant Filtration (ELF) is a lubricant cleaning system currently undergoing field demonstration testing on turbine oil at powerplants to alleviate contaminated oil concerns. This study presents the ELF technology field test experimental data compared with theoretical governing equations simulation data. From the comparison result it’s found that simulation data highly matched with the field test data. The validation of theoretical governing equations with field data facilitates future development and optimization of the electrostatic lubrication filtration technology, with the potential of expanding application to other industries.
