Osman","doi":"10.1109/ECONF.2015.51","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"The study aimed to evaluate the factors influencing the adoption of e-learning in Gezira University according to views of staff memb ers and recommended possible solutions to overcome challenges. Recently University of Gezira as well as some Sudanese Universi ties started to adopt e-learning as new me thods to facilitate teaching and learning. Sample of 150 staff members were selected randomly from the university sectors (education, engineering and applied sciences, agriculture, economic, medicine and health). Questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents, however a sample of 91 instructors was collected, this of 60.6% of all respondents. The results of the study revealed, that, most of the respondents acknowledged that there are multi challenges facing and hindering the adoption of e-learning successfully in University of Gezira. The most significant findings were lack of infrastructure, lack of training, moreover the internet services, loading of e-learning contents, technical support and availability of hardware and software provided by university of Gezira to facilitate effective and successful of e-learning adoption is not enough. On the other hand the two prominent factors were noticed the respondents' believe the English language is not a barrier to implement e-learning. Moreover the respondents felts positive attitude toward e-learning. For successful of e-learning in general and in University of Gezira in particular the challenges should be addressed by University and possible solutions should be found.
