The Present study aimed to investigate contribution of emotional empathy and cognitive in predicting marital forgiveness among married couples. A sample consists of 100 husbands and their wives (50 husbands, 50 wives), the ages of husbands ranged between (25-46) years, while the ages of wives between (25-43) years. The participant completed Marital Forgiveness Scale and Marital Empathy Scale. The statistical analysis revealed a positive relationship between the two components of empathy and marital forgiveness and its components among husbands and wives. The result also showed the contribution of emotional and cognitive empathy in predicting marital forgiveness and its component among husbands and wives. Cognitive empathy was more predictive of marital forgiveness among husbands while emotional empathy was more predictive of marital forgiveness among wives.
