Noise Source Modeling for Automotive Components Using a Wire-harness Bench
Measurement and calculation methods to obtain the noise-source equivalent-circuit model for automotive components are proposed. The measurement method uses a bench with wire-harness connected to a component layout on a ground plane. The wire-harness load is changed in several levels, and the current and the closely-placed antenna output are measured. The calculation method is constructed based on the circuit equation of the bench and uses a least-squares calculation to process the consecutive measurement in the bench. The appropriate combinations of the condition settings for the measurement combined with the calculation are proposed. For this purpose, a pseudo component is constructed, and its model is produced to evaluate the model performance to estimate the emission when the component is mounted on an actual vehicle.
