For the better visual quality and the further use in digital image processing systems, noises must be removed. In this study, the proposed scheme can efficiently remove fixed-valued and random-valued impulse noise sources while preserving image edges. It has better image quality than those of the conventional linear and non-linear filters. The proposed scheme also maintains the edge of the restoration image due to preserving image edge details.
