Aiming to the problem of the traditional SNMP-based network fault management, a mobile agent-based network fault diagnosis model is proposed, which applies mobile agent technology to network management, so it can monitor, detect and deal with network fault autonomously. The structure and function of model, especially the architecture and strategy of diagnostic agent, is depicted.
