Starting from that topology, this paper introduces a novel topology allowing power to flow in both directions (operating as a converter or inverter). This was named the bidirectional Eight-Switch (BES) PFC converter. Performances of the proposed BES PFC converter are evaluated in this study based on simulation studies in Gecko environment. Its efficiency evaluation for a power value of a 2.5 kW is also provided.
