Comparison of autologous plasma and buffer suspensions of healthy subjects' erythrocytes showed no significant difference in filterability. Albumin alone resulted in a dose-dependent increase, while fibrinogen caused a decrease in red cell filterability. In the presence of fibrinogen, albumin showed controversial effects.
