A Load Flow Algorithm for Radial Distribution System with Distributed Generation
This paper describes an algorithm used for the load flow analysis of distribution system with distributed generation (DG). A simple model is proposed to carry out the load flow analysis of the radial distribution system including the distributed generation connected to the buses modeled as PV(constant active power and voltage magnitude) buses and negative PQ (constant active and reactive power) buses. The proposed method is basically a modified form of backward, forward propagation method of a radial distribution system to take account for DG. Hence the method takes the advantage of both the simplicity of radial distribution system as well as consideration of DG. The accuracy, speed and number of iterations required to complete the load flow by these methods are compared. The proposed methodology is found fast, accurate and reliable.
