Electronic Health Referral (EHR) System: A Systematic Review
Ill-health appears to be one of the major population diminishing factors in our world today and the African populace is not left out of this debacle. Majority of the cases and diagnosis at hospitals shows that if there had been early detection of diseases, referrals to appropriate specialist and prompt treatment, most deaths would have been averted. While hospital bills may be a major hindrance for the less-privileged, absence of relevant hospital referral system is also a contributor to the increased death toll. This review focuses on analyzing the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction of electronic health referral systems compared to traditional paper-based referral systems. The review includes an examination of existing literature, case studies, and relevant data to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of electronic health referrals. Also, it highlights the importance of electronic health referral systems and elucidates the results gotten from the reviews from which the EHRs can be much more beneficial.
