This change accelerated by COVID-19 and increased demand for best practices of educational systems. Competitive landscape requires conversion of the future competences and methodologies of teaching. Recently established Astana IT University (AITU) adopted the national development strategy \"Digital Kazakhstan\" to serve better the needs of future graduates. AITU strives to become one of the leaders in higher education, which leads to new economy of Central Asia region. University’s online courses with the use of modern teaching methodologies are helping to support the digital economy of our country. Digital transformation affects labor market by making some professions obsolete and creating new ones. University offers contemporary courses in IT industry that are competitive in new economy.
