Observation of radio-frequency induced optical transparency in exited atoms
This paper experimentally studies a four-level atomic system within 607.4 nm transition 2p/sup 5/3s/sup 3/P/sub 1/ (J=1) 2p/sup 5/s3p/sup 3/P0 (J=0) of Ne. Combined action of both rf and optical fields lead to the coherence population trapping that was detected as reduction of absorption of the probe field. Stimulated resonant Raman scattering of the optical field on Zeeman coherence and the rf field on the optically-induced coherence is observed as generation of Stokes and anti-Stokes optical fields at the adjacent transition frequencies, which are detected by a heterodyne technique.
