Design and Analysis of Wireless Networks Based on ITPC for Performance Improvement
There has been an upsurge quest for high speed internet service in Iraq after sanctions of the post war of 2003 in Iraq. To satisfy the demand without compromising on the cost, subscriber base and Quality of Service (QoS) pose serious challenges. In Iraq, the chief Internet Service Provider (ISP) namely the ITPC is an Iraqi Telecommunication and Post Company that exploits Wi-Fi in addition to WiMAX standards to provide wireless broadband (WB) access for facilitating very last mile connectivity. In our work, an OPNET modeler is used to study the End-to-End (E2E) QoS design of ITPC WiMAX network. E2E delay, throughput and jitter have been considered as QoS parameters for delay sensitive traffics like voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and streaming video, to evaluate the simulated model. For 5 MHz and 10 MHz channel bandwidths the active subscribers load that can be tolerated is tested using the model. The design and analysis of the ITPC WiMAX network described in the paper primarily aims at improving the network performance.
