A method-of-moments approach to EM environment assessment nearby high-voltage transmission lines
A moment method analysis is presented in this paper for computing the electrical field intensity in the surrounding space of a high-voltage multiconductor transmission line above the ground. In this analysis, the number of conductors, and the shape of cross-section of lines are assumed to be arbitrary. As a result, this formulation and its corresponding computer program would be applicable to the assessment of electromagnetic pollution produced by a high-voltage multiconductor transmission line system and may be used in calculation of interference between power system and telecommunication lines as well. The computed results are compared with those obtained by using an analytical approach and a good agreement between the two results justifies the correctness and effectiveness of this method.
