Performance Evaluation of Low-cost Carbon Dioxide Sensors
The present work is dedicated to the performance evaluation of commercial, off-the-shelf non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) carbon dioxide sensors. These sensors are very promising candidate for the new generation air monitoring tools, but some of their basic characteristics are not sufficient for scientific and control applications. In this study the sensors were tested and evaluated for the assessment of their uniformity, repeatability, linearity, accuracy, atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity sensitivity. Possibilities for the sensor calibration and accuracy improvement are discussed.
