Power Sharing and Transient Simulation and Analysis for Ring Bus Architecture with Static UPS
This paper discusses the transient simulation and analysis for ring bus (RB) architecture comprised of multiple Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) to maximize its reliability for data center application. The ring bus system is an architecture which has critical loads distribute evenly among all UPSs. The system is more tolerant to the potential interruption events. The selected transient scenarios include UPS failure and faults on ring bus and input of dual carded load are discussed in this paper. A droop control scheme is used. Its equivalent system model for voltage and power dispatch control during faults is described. The simulation results reported in this paper verify the functionality of the ring bus architecture and its fault tolerant capability.
