UWB Technology for Detecting Alive People Behind Optically Opaque Obstacles
A high-speed processing algorithm for ultrawideband (UWB) signals has been developed to detect slow moving objects for the radar system consisting of a transmitter and two spatially separated receivers. The algorithm allows us at relatively high signal-to-noise ratio to use the peak-factor of signals as a criterion for rejecting the affected lines of the radar image and to carry out the continuous processing of signals of the observing system with displaying the data in a user-friendly form. Signal accumulation and interference absorption is realized in real time by subtracting the alternating samples of the observed process from signals of each receiving point assuming the small shift of the object during the local sounding. Continuous measurements of differences of the delays of a signal reflected from the target to the receiving points are ensured by the polynomial approximation of the object's motion path relative to each of the receivers.
