The transient energy margin sensitivities are highly significant in quick determination of stability limits. The power flow distribution factors can be used for fast computation of line flow limits. The method calculated load shedding amount by means of comparing interface on-line flows and interface flow limits in an emergency in real-time monitoring. Tests on power systems had proven that this method yielded dynamic load shedding amounts rapidly and efficiently.
