This is to solve the problem of the ambiguity surrounding the concept of scientific research and the mechanism of dealing with its elements which are hitherto unclear to some student researchers. The researcher adopted the analytical method founded on the deductive methodology, where the theoretical framework of the research was formed from the theory of the perfect matching of the Qur’anic language propounded by Al-Hafiz Al-Khattabi (d. 388 AH). Verse 31 of surah al-Ma’idah was the Quranic text that was analyzed with emphasis on the internal and external contextual analysis of the two words “Yabhath” and “gurab”. In the results, the research found five main components on which any scientific research must be based, in addition to some characteristics of scientific research. The study also matches the “gurab” concept and the research context. The research also points to the importance of the perfect semantic matching theory to distinguish between interpreters’ viewpoints. In its recommendation, the research recommends a deeper theorization of the perfect semantic matching of the Qur’anic language, in addition to conducting a detailed discussion about its evidence.
