The paper proposes a novel concept of a user interface device in VR environments. In a virtual environment, it is very important for users to directly manipulate the virtual objects. However, we do not have to introduce the negative features of real environments. We propose a new user interface device called the See-through Hand. The See-through Hand is a palm-coupled display system in which a small display is attached to the back of the user's hand. The See-through Hand makes the user's real hand partially transparent and helps the user to intuitively manipulate virtual objects in a VR space.
