Industrial enterprise analysis: A precursor to computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) success
A methodology for performing an industrial enterprise analysis is presented. It identifies the most appropriate modernization technologies, techniques, and methods available to improve the productive capacity of a manufacturing enterprise. This top-down structured methodology identifies and models key parameters associated with the overall systems impact of the introduction and application of technologies, procedures, or methods into the manufacturing or service business enterprise. It provides a framework for planning productivity enhancement activities on the basis of a detailed understanding of the entire enterprise. This analysis utilizes state-of-the-art cost modeling and technology assessment software to assist with the analysis prioritization and selection of proposed modernization projects.<>
