Language and national tradition. Relationship between Poles and their language based on selection of comments on discussion preceding National Reading Day 2018 Summary The main issue of the article refers to the relationship between Poles, their mother tongue and literary tradition, which appeared in the vivid discussion preceding The National Reading Day of 2018. For this purpose, Author has presented the controversy caused by the adaptation of Przedwiośnie by Stefan Żeromski made by Andrzej Dobosz. Author has selected and analyzed opinions and comments of Internet users and cartoonists posted on websites such as serwis.gazetaprawna.pl, wyborcza.pl, wiadomości.wp.pl. With usage of the method of precise semantic-lexical description, Author has captured various shades of meaning, assigned to words in the analyzed statements.
