The properties and applications of peak-to-peak time interval error metrics

The paper presents the Maximum Time Interval Error (MTIE) function analysis based on the general features of MTIE function. It is proposed to extend the pick-to-pick functions family, particularly the relative metrics. The relationship of the new metrics that are proposed for networks with packet switching and MTIE is clarified. The general features of pick-to-pick functions are observed in the context of their possible applications in modern telecommunications. The results have been confirmed by computer simulation and measurement.
