The adoption of Electric Vehicles depends upon its profitability which further depends upon how well energy storage system and power electronic converters are interfaced. Energy storage system delivers power that is unreliable, unregulated and has significant voltage drops. Electric vehicle needs converters, controllers, and modulation techniques to limit these constraints. This paper explores different type of converters, controllers and modulation techniques that has been used in the literature for electric vehicle applications. Further, paper also mentions issues and challenges to identify research gaps.
