The Prophet (PBUH) has guided us in all matters of life and death. One of the most important human needs is marriage. Islam has stated the rules of marriage and conjugal life and has also declared it as an excellent means of worship and protection of faith. The concept of Islamic marriage is very simple. The Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Companions (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the saints and scholars (may Allaah have mercy on them all) performed this duty with simplicity and set the best example for us. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) teaches us that when someone gives you the message of marriage whose religion and morals you like, marry him (your daughter. If you do not do this, there will be strife in the land and great mischief. Alas! In modern times, we ourselves have made it difficult for a tradition like marriage with haraam customs, illegitimate restrictions and wasteful spending, which in our society has increased evils like usury, fights and hatred and revenge. Here are some of the common customs and reasons that make marriage difficult: Engagement In our society, millions of rupees is spent on exhibitions and various invitations in the name of engagement. The long list of demands in the name of dowry repeatedly makes the bridegroom indebted to millions. In addition to the extravagant expenses incurred in these ceremonies, the manner in which shame and modesty and honor are shed brings tears to the eyes of those who are in pain of religion.
