Web-based Asset Management for heterogeneous industrial networks

Strategic aim of asset management in industrial networks is an effective administration and optimization of the usage of devices, machines and plants. The amount of complex information, which is gathered from heterogeneous information stock without significant additional expense, increases notably. At the same time, such a system has to provide a platform for scalable application functions and standard network functionality. Existing asset management tools are focused on single devices while using heterogeneous information sets. This paper describes the development of a network centered asset management system for heterogeneous industrial networks, considering the entire network to be an asset, independent of the specific industrial network.
