I-V and P-V Solar Cell Characteristics Simulation for a Single Diode Photovoltaic
Photovoltaic systems, also known as solar cells, are gaining popularity as renewable and sustainable energy sources. However, during the design phase, it is critical to have a reliable and flexible PV model that allows for an accurate estimation of the PV generated electricity under various operating conditions. Not only that, but the initial cost of a PV system is quite high; thus, a good performance estimation of the PV generators used is required before installing the system. The goal of this paper is to investigate the I-V and P-V solar cell characteristics for a single diode equivalent circuit using the LT-Spice software. There were two scenarios, one with variable temperatures and the other with variable solar irradiances. It has been discovered that efficiency decreases as temperature rises, while efficiency rises as solar irradiance rises.
