The paper assesses the morphofunctional state and genotype of athletes in the selection in this type of sports activity. The main morphofunctional indicators and genotypes of athletes of different age and sex are characterized, which are significant when selecting to rowing on canoes, further accompanying athletes and for diagnosing sports results. Recommendations on improving the selection process in rowing and canoeing are proposed.
