Opportunities and Challenges of Metaverse for Automotive and Mobility Industries

The automotive and mobility industries have re-cently been interested in Metaverse, the complex virtual space, as the primary research item because of its flexibility and scalability in product development and design. In addition to this trend, current Metaverse applications and proposals suggest that Metaverse has the potential to enable users to experience products and services from various perspectives. To expand this potential beyond these trends and applications, we need to find the possible opportunities and obstacles associated with Metaverse in the automotive and mobility fields. In this paper, we investigate the opportunities and challenges of the Metaverse in the automotive and mobility industries. We first explore the Metaverse concept, structure, and technical requirements of wire-less communication and network systems. We also illustrated the current Metaverserelated applications and proposed concepts in the industries before analyzing the opportunities and challenges of the Metaverse.
