A new augmented system is constructed and an auxiliary output vector is proposed so that the observer matching condition is satisfied. A high-order sliding mode observer is considered to obtain the exact estimates of both the auxiliary outputs and their derivatives. A kind of actuator and sensor fault reconstruction method is developed based on a reduced-order observer and the high-order sliding mode observer.
