This study sought to investigate the influence of Luo socio-cultural perception of Dagaa on the purchasing habits of local Kenyan households. Secondary data from the 2015/16 Kenya Integrated Household Budget Survey was used to conduct a multiple linear regression to test the research hypothesis. Results indicate that being a Luo household in the Lake's basin could reduce consumption of Dagaa by an estimated 0.055 kg per week, whereas a food-poor household is apt to consume 0.062 kg more Dagaa within the basin.
