The proposed antenna is composed of a wrench-shaped radiating patch to achieve ultrawide frequency band. The impedance matching is improved by etching double T-shaped slots on the background plane. Measured results show that the UWB antenna has a maximum gain of 5.5 dBi and an impedance bandwidth of 9 GHz (3–12 GHz) which covers entire UWB band.
