In this present simulation model both partial discharge inception and extinction are taken to be stochastic in nature. The void taken in this simulation is a narrow one for which the discharge area is taken to be fixed and is equal to the area of the top or bottom surface of the void. In this paper plane-plane electrode system is considered and the PD simulations are carried out by varying Ec, considering stochastic as well as non-stochastic occurrence of partial discharge and residual field.
