Cultism is one of the social vices that have continued to defy solutions in Nigeria's tertiary educational institutions. Many students have been maimed, mutilated and even killed as a result of campus cult activities. This paper examines the origin, types and the initiation procedures of campus cults. The reasons for cult membership, the reasons for its continuous existence in Nigerian campuses and the consequences of cult activities have also been ex-rayed. Measures aimed at curbing campus cult activities are also brought to limelight. SOPHIA: An African Journal of Philosophy Vol. 9 (1) 2006: pp. 130-133
