Subjective Logic-Based Model to Consider Uncertainty in Information Diffusion
Information diffusion is attracting considerable interest due to the growth of social media. The correct model of this process helps predict the acceptance of a product or idea in societies and makes us understand what features could boost information spreads in the networks. We intend this to be a reason for testing the effect of users’ uncertainty about the information on the diffusion process. In an attempt to add uncertainty to prior models, we used subjective logic, which enabled us to model different types of users. We achieved that the speed of information diffusion is correlated with a level of users’ uncertainty. The upshot of this is the possibility that we could propagate a piece of information throw the network faster if we reduced the users’ uncertainty.
