Muhammad","doi":"10.4314/kje.v4i1.6","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"The study investigated “Competencies Needs of Secondary Schools Teachers for Implementation of Entrepreneurial Business Trades Curriculum in Adamawa State, Nigeria”. As a guide, two specific objectives, research questions and null hypotheses were raised. Descriptive survey was used for the study. The population of the study was 220 business trade teachers in Adamawa State secondary schools, and Total Population Sample (TPS) was used for the study. A 4-point scale structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by four experts and pilot study was carried out in Gombe State senior secondary schools to test the validity of the instrument using Cronbach Alpha reliability test which yielded a coefficient of .846. Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS), 25 was used to process the mean scores and standard deviations for answering the research questions, while the hypotheses were tested using Analysis of Variance at 0.05 level of significant. The study disclosed that Business Trades teachers need competencies in entrepreneurial skills competencies and basic competencies for effective implementation of Entrepreneurial Trade subjects in secondary schools, without which the objectives of the curriculum would not be achieved. The study concluded that, the introduction of Entrepreneurial Business Trade subjects at the secondary school level will not address the problem of unemployment if the situation of the teachers who are responsible for the implementation of the curriculum remained unchanged. Based on these, it was recommended among others that government should organize training sessions for business trade subject teachers, to enable them to acquire the needed competencies for instructional delivery in the secondary schools. 该研究调查了“尼日利亚阿达马瓦州中学教师实施创业商业贸易课程的能力需求”。作为指导,提出了两个具体目标,研究问题和零假设。本研究采用描述性调查法。本研究以Adamawa州立中学220名商业贸易教师为研究对象,采用总人口样本(Total population Sample, TPS)进行研究。采用4分制结构化问卷进行数据收集。通过4位专家对仪器进行了验证,并在贡贝州立高中进行了试点研究,采用Cronbach Alpha信度检验对仪器的效度进行了检验,其信度系数为0.846。采用社会科学统计软件包(SPSS), 25对回答研究问题的平均得分和标准差进行处理,在0.05的显著水平上使用方差分析对假设进行检验。研究表明,商业贸易教师需要创业技能能力和基本能力,以有效实施中学的创业贸易科目,没有这些课程的目标将无法实现。研究得出的结论是,如果负责实施课程的教师的情况保持不变,在中学一级引入创业商业贸易科目将无法解决失业问题。在此基础上,除其他外,有人建议政府应为商业贸易科目教师组织培训课程,使他们能够获得在中学进行教学所需的能力。有人建议,企业商业贸易教师应掌握两种能力,即企业技能和基本能力,以便在中学实施企业商业贸易课程,从而实现制定课程的预期目标,即自营职业、自力更生和在经济、社会、政治和技术发展的所有方面维持生计。
